Girl Scouts
Build an understanding and interest in architecture by visiting 4 of the Village buildings. Each one has a different architectural design and history to go with it. Compare these American styles to architectural styles from other parts of the world.

Promote an interest in historic fashion and how it relates to fashion of today. Express your creativity by embellishing something you already have. A time to share your fashion ideas while looking at the ideas of women who came before you.

Folk Arts
Learn and appreciate the arts of everyday people, through crafts, games, dance and folk tales. Take a look at old portraits in the Elk Lick House and compare them with photographs of your family. Play some games your grandparents might have played and see how they are different today. Learn a dance and listen to some tall tales. (Please bring 3-4 family photos.)

Yarn and Fabric Arts
Learn to use textiles, fibers, and yarns in an artistic and practical way. Visit the loom house to learn the art of weaving and dying. See heirloom stitching. Back to the Hayner House to learn knots and fabrics of the past. Each girl will dye a bandana and make a key ring.
