Heritage Village Invites children ages *6-14 to participate in the 2007 workshops. It will be a busy week for participants, who will live for a week in the 1800’s. Campers will churn butter, learn to harness a horse, hearth cook, preserve food, spin, weave, write with quill and ink, build a tool box, garden, make a lantern, make soap, dip candles, and make a fishing and go fishing. They will do things like their great-grandparents—things like CHORES! Yipes!!. Hold your horses!
It’s not all work and no play! Campers play the same games as their 19th century counterparts played and will be treated to period music & dance by a resident musician. Tucked away in lovely Sharon Woods Park, Heritage Village is a unique setting for this exciting hands on experience for the “19th century” student.
