Children’s Activity Saturdays will take place January 12, February 9, March 8 and April 26. Kids will spend a Saturday morning at the museum learning about 19th century life, do a hands-on craft such as box building, make a corn husk doll, decorate a victorian valentine and a tin punch lantern, making a very special version of 19th century ice cream. Another day, kids will be writing a letter home with quill pen and bottled ink and actually sealing and mailing it, perhaps dipping candles, baking bread in a bee hive oven and churning butter to smear on it. Each Saturday has a fun history lesson, a craft and a light lunch.
The last Saturday, April 26, is Earth Day and kids will learn about how people in 19th century Cincinnati recycled. Pre-registration is a must, January’s activity is $15, the rest are $10. This fee includes lunch. Call and register soon for some fun Saturdays this winter and spring.
