Exhibit: July 2nd- August 26th Program: July 11th In 2007, a collaboration from the Betts House Research Center and Cincinnati Preservation Association produced the award winning exhibit, "Endangered Cincinnati: Can These Buildings be Saved?" This exhibit is intended to highlight historic buildings and communities at risk from threats such as neglect or institutional expansion. In the five years since the exhibit's formation, some of the featured buildings have been lost, some rescued, and others still await salvation. In addition to the exhibit, Margo Warminski will present an overview of the state of preservation in Cincinnati. Her program will include updates on certain buildings, hard-won successes and tragic losses, new threats from the economic downturn and hope of what to expect in the future. Margo Warminski is currently Preservation Director of the Cincinnati Preservation Association and has over 20 years of experience in the historic preservation field. Although a native of Detroit, Margo moved to Cincinnati in 1977, drawn by its natural beauty and wealth of historic architecture.
The exhibit opens July 2nd and runs through August 26th. Open Wednesdays-Saturdays from 10am-5pm and Sunday from 1pm-5pm. Cost is $2.00 per person. (a Village tour can be added for just $3.00 more per person). Exhibit is free to Members. The program takes place at 7 pm on July 11th in the Hayner House and is free to the public.
