Event:
2012 First Ladies of Fashion Exhibit

First Ladies of Fashion- March 17th - June 17th

The Spring of 2012 will bring our three month First Ladies of Fashion Exhibit. Featuring 14 gowns on loan from the Frankenmuth Historical Association, this exhibit has been traveling the country to give viewers more insight into the lives of former First Ladies. The 14 pieces viewers will see show the progression of fashion in U.S. history as well as give insight into the various historical periods. Although these gowns are not originals, they are carefully constructed replicas made with close attention to historical accuracy.

Along with the gowns, there will be information about the First Lady who would have worn it. Three of the First Ladies: Julia Grant, Helen Taft, and Florence Harding, have a connection to Ohio and we will be featuring artifacts borrowed from other museums that once belonged to them. All of the gowns will be complimented with our own artifacts from their time period

The exhibit is open Wednesdays-Saturdays from 10am-5pm and Sunday from 1pm-5pm. Cost is $2.00 per person. (during May-September, a Village tour can be added for just $3.00 more per person). Exhibit is free to Members.
