Living Like Kings |

August 22nd This fascinating presentation by Greg Fugitt allows the audience to get a true idea of what it was like to be a Civil War soldier. Fugitt focuses on soldiers from Southwest Ohio, discussing with listeners their daily lives- what they ate, what they wore, where they slept and other details. He also looks at differences in rank affecting their lives as well as comparing life in camp versus life on a campaign and what it was like being in friendly or hostile territory. Greg Fugitt has lived in Butler County for over 45 years and has a deep interest in history. He is a member of multiple historic societies including the Butler County Civil War Sesquicentennial Committee. He is also the author of a book following the story of the 35th Ohio Volunteer Infantry in the Civil War. This program begins at 7pm in the Hayner House and is free to the public. |
