Shadow War |
|---|---|
June 13th The Civil War is remembered as a time of much controversy and dissent in our country. In this program presented by Christopher Philips, he takes a look at the political warfare which occurred from anti-war dissent during this "shadow war". Being one of the border states, Ohio fostered much of this political unrest and Phillips examines how this shaped our state and others at such a trying time. Christopher Phillips is a professor of history and department head at the University of Cincinnati. He has a particular interest in the Civil War and Reconstruction, especially in the American South and border states. He has published five books relating to this subject with a current book project set to be published in 2013. This event begins at 7pm in the Hayner House and is free to the public
Shadow War is made possible, in part, by the Ohio Humanities Council, a state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities. |
